ACADEMY EXPECTATIONS
Tidefall Academy Rules
Tidefall Academy rules exist because students are learning real magic in a place where the Tide can behave unpredictably. Safety, control and supervision matter as much as raw ability.
Core expectations
- Magic should be controlled rather than used carelessly.
- Students are expected to practise technique, not just power.
- Order placement is determined through the Choosing Tide rather than ordinary personal selection.
- More demanding field activity is restricted to students old enough and trained enough to take part safely.
- Unusual magical events should be treated seriously rather than assumed to be ordinary.
Field access
Year 4 students are the group allowed to attend the more demanding field site activities in established public canon. That rule reflects the Academy's emphasis on preparation before exposure to higher-risk magical environments.
Why the rules matter
The Academy is not built around stopping students from exploring. Its rules create the boundary between learning safely and treating powerful magic as a toy. The tension between curiosity and responsibility is part of Tidefall Academy life.
