Lily begins shy, anxious and uncertain about where she fits. Underneath that hesitation is a stubborn streak and a strong capacity for loyalty. Across the story she grows more confident, more willing to speak up and less willing to let other people decide who she is.

Lily belongs to Brannor. Her placement is especially memorable because she arrives late and does not experience the Choosing Tide in the same simple way as most students.
Signature identity

How Lily reached Tidefall
A late awakening
Before Tidefall, Lily was bullied and spent much of her time trying to keep herself small and unnoticed. Her magic did not stay small. Under pressure it erupted unintentionally, revealing that something far bigger was happening around her and leading to her being brought to Tidefall Academy later than most students.
Her placement was unusual too. During the Choosing Tide, the water began carrying Lily toward a different destination. Lily resisted and swam against it. The Tide pushed harder, Lily kept fighting it, and a dolphin became part of the chaotic crossing before she ultimately reached Brannor. The moment fits Lily unusually well: anxious does not mean passive, and being pushed does not guarantee she will go quietly.

Power under pressure
Lily's magic can become intense when fear or pressure overwhelms her control. Her first major magical incident is not a polished spell but an uncontrolled release, making control and confidence important parts of her development.
